ITA HP Series Marine Screw Gas Ends

Screw Gas-ends

The Booster Series, ITA-HP, has been designed to achieve a suction pressure of 8 barg (115 psig) and a discharge pressure of 25 barg (360 psig). These boosters ensure exceptional performance in applications where the suction pressure is up to 8 barg (115 psig). Utilizing a booster solution eliminates the need for decompression before the inlet, which typically results in efficiency loss. The series, comprising two sizes (13 and 26), can cover a range from 37 to 350 kW (50 to 470 hp), reaching a maximum gas flow of 36 m³/min (1260 cfm).

Marine booster performance where inlet pressure is already high

Marine gas systems often operate with meaningful inlet pressure, and boosting that pressure efficiently is critical for reliable shipboard operation.
The ITA‑HP Series Marine screw gas ends are engineered as booster solutions for applications such as LNG/BOG and shipboard utilities, delivering high-pressure performance with a design intended for marine expectations and class-driven requirements.
By boosting directly from elevated suction pressure, ITA‑HP Marine supports efficient system architecture and helps OEMs build compact, dependable compressor packages for harsh environments.

Booster concept: preserve efficiency by avoiding inlet decompression

In many high-pressure marine systems, reducing pressure before the compressor inlet can introduce avoidable losses. ITA‑HP Marine is built to boost directly from higher suction pressure, helping maintain overall efficiency and simplifying system architecture. For OEMs, this approach can reduce the need for additional upstream controls and minimize wasted compression work, especially in applications where inlet pressure is already available and must be increased further for downstream equipment.

Pressure, flow, and power range for shipboard compression duties

ITA‑HP Marine is designed to operate with suction pressure up to 8 barg and deliver discharge pressure up to 25 barg, supporting higher-pressure marine gas handling needs. The series spans two frame sizes (13 and 26) and covers 37 to 350 kW, with maximum gas flow up to 36 m3/min. This range supports scalable OEM package design, from compact utility systems to higher-demand booster duties, while keeping the core compression element within one consistent marine-ready family.

Marine-focused engineering features that support stability at high pressure

High-pressure boosting increases internal forces and places greater demands on drivetrain and sealing performance. ITA‑HP Marine combines oil-injected screw technology with an integration-ready configuration that includes an integrated gear-box and mechanical seal, supporting compact layouts and predictable operation. A balance piston design is included to help manage axial loads, improving mechanical stability and supporting long-term reliability under continuous-duty shipboard conditions where consistent performance matters.

Designed for LNG/BOG and shipboard utilities with class-minded intent

Shipboard systems often require specialized compression for duties such as LNG/BOG handling and onboard utilities, where operational continuity and compliance expectations are high. ITA‑HP Marine is positioned for these environments, supporting marine requirements where equipment selection is influenced by class expectations and documentation discipline. For OEMs, selecting a marine-oriented booster gas end helps align the compressor core with the realities of vessel integration, commissioning, and long-term service planning.

OEM integration value: repeatable packages, easier layouts, clearer lifecycle planning

OEM success in marine markets depends on building packages that are compact, repeatable, and service-friendly. ITA‑HP Marine’s bare-shaft format supports flexible coupling to a range of driver strategies, while integrated gearing helps simplify speed matching and layout decisions. Using a defined booster family also helps streamline platform engineering, enabling OEMs to standardize around a proven compression core and focus effort on the surrounding system design, controls, and vessel-specific integration needs.
